sleeping on your side??
« on: October 03, 2017, 12:07:44 PM »
Hey all,

I was wondering what the opinion out there is about sleeping on your side? I know Steve said sleeping on your stomach is not healthy for your back.

I sleep on my sides and don't have  problem but if a body already has muscle imbalances or flexibility problems you might find this irritates something.

When my health was real poor I would only sleep for 2 hours straight and not be able to go back to sleep. Sleep about 4 hours straight now but still have a difficult time finding a comfortable position. Have tried raising knees a half meter with  pillow. Been Sleeping on the side with a pillow between my legs to keep from turning on my stomach and twisting my legs. Also have tried sleeping on my stomach with feet off the bed and pillow supporting the pelvis but can't yet get to point of sleeping more than 4 hours straight. Any other ideas?

It's a restless body that can't sleep. That can come from a physical or mental disturbance. Your's is likely a physical one but it may also be that you have trained your body o need less sleep now after such a long time with problems. You could look at things that help you sleep like essential oils, valerian (a natural sleep support) even cannabis is very effective. Whatever works for you, use a natural product and after retraining yourself to sleep through the night you shouldn't need it any more.
