Pins and needles
« on: June 25, 2009, 03:08:07 AM »
Hi Steve,

I continue to improve with better functioning of my body overall. I do the yoga weekly (am always trying to do more reqularly) and other ball work as prescribed in your book. In particular the hips and glutes, erectors and hamstrings. I also see Wayne here in Melbourne about every three weeks, which helps greatly.  I have developed a new symptom over the last week with pins and needles in my right foot, and a feeling of heaviness in the foot. I know my calves are very tight. Any suggestions as to how to 'fix' this? Overall I feel the best I have since my problems began (7 years ago), so following your program is very beneficial to me.

thanks,

Cathy

PS Keep up the good work

Hi Kathy,
I would suggest you see Wayne about the pins and needles, just pressure on one of the nerve segments along the lower spine I'd suspect. That could be because of a number of things and that's why seeing Wayne would be best if you have that access. It could be something you just have to go through as part of the changes if the problems have been around for 7 years. The SLM program isn't always a quick fix, but it is a lasting fix.

Good luck,
Regards
Steve

After a couple of really good weeks pain wise. I had a flare up starting about 10 days ago. Now my arms and legs are so tired and achy, which I have had happen before but what is concerning me is the pins and needles plus numb feeling in my hands and feet. Also a sort of itchy sensation - any ideas ?

The pins and needles comes when the nerves are under pressure and the self treatment technique with the rubber balls on the erector spinae muscles plus the SLM Yoga should help you deal with this.

Good luck,

Steve
