Glute/hamstring pain

hi steve, ive been doing the slm dvd program for a week now. im just a bit confused on when i should use a pressure ball and how much i should do yoga. My background is in carpenter so i do lifting alot im 42 yrs old. Still fairly fit, not over weight but am improving my diet to be healthier and stronger for my muscles. i had a prolasped disc about 7 yrs ago and every now and then get tight siatic pain down my left glute muscle and hamstring. i see a chiro who does do deep muscle massage in the area as well as alighnment, by the way he was impressed with your book. with thanks Rob

Hi Rob you can do the Yoga everyday or less often as you find works for you. The ball work can be done as often as need be also but if you do a very thorough job on an area not more regualrly than every 3 days.

thanks, i forgot to mention i have short leg syndrome my right is 20mm shorter so my hips r tilted. do i still use a heel raise. my chiro said im his 3rd worse in leg difference my pain has slighty subsided. i think the work on my hamstrings has loosen my nerve pain in it

The heel lift will take away a lot of the pressure caused by a short leg but idealy you correct the balance and get rid of the short leg if possible. If you have tried that to no evail then try the heel lift of about half the descrepancy.
