Hi there
« on: January 30, 2007, 09:36:42 PM »
Hello Steve and everyone else!

I turn 60 this year and have decided that I am going to lick my back problem or else!

I have been aware of your site for some months now and downloaded and read the "Bad Back Book" very carefully. Having suffered from back problems for years and tried various methods of relief I am now putting myself completely in your care.  I have recently purchased your CD (still to arrive) and in two days time I have an appointment with Robyn Pierson in Wandin East.
Some history.......
For the last three years I signed on with a chiropractor on an annual basis whose main aim was to straighten my spine in order to improve my health and I must say that I understand fully what he was trying to achieve.  Unfortunately it never alleviated my pain though so it was frustrating to have my weekly manipulation and still walk out with the same pain that I had arrived with.  I was also given daily exercises to do and I got so enthusiastic that I overdid them and ended up seeing a neurologist because I was unable to lift my head even a fracture above level height without my world spinning horrifying out of control.  This continued for around eight weeks and made life very difficult for me! I was then diagnosed with BPPV (Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo) and told that it was for life but shouldn't ever be as bad again as this bout.  My world does tilt every now and again but very momentarily and only occasionally.

I'm quite excited about my visit to Robyn as I feel that I have probably come to the right person at last!  A few months ago I visited a woman who told me that my trouble was a twisted muscle in my leg and after a few minutes manipulation by her I was pain free for days. She only spent five minutes with me which I understand is her normal consultation time so I can only imagine what can be discovered and achieved when a reasonable period of time is spent with me.

Don't know if I have a photograph with a big enough smile on my dial!!

Cheers  :) ;) :D
